Pitch Day

October 17 | Cailloux Theater

Sometimes the only thing stopping a great business idea from becoming reality is access to capital. Hill Country Pitch Day exists to bridge that gap.

We are bringing the best area  entrepreneurs into a room full of potential investors to pitch their idea "Shark-Tank-Style".

The event is free and fully open to the public thanks to our generous sponsors.

We will have between 4 and 7 selected teams pitching their best startup or business expansion ideas and seeking funding between $20,000 and $2,000,000.

We will have a panel of local Area Angel Investors who will ask questions of the pitching teams during the Q&A time. There will also be a VIP section open to 150 local investors and entrepreneurs who will be invited to attend a cocktail and hors d'oeuvre hour following the presentation.

Observers will be able to vote on their favorite pitch team and have their votes counted towards the prize packages listed below.

Hill Country Pitch Day will be held at The Cailloux Theater in Kerrville, TX. October 17th, 2019.

If you are a business-minded individual and would like to pitch your idea at the event, this is your opportunity. All submissions will be reviewed for approval and additional information will be required after an initial screening. You will receive instructions by e-mail on next steps.

The team at Texas Business Buyers will contact you within 72 hours to get necessary additional information. If your application is approved, detailed information about your business will be required, which may include a profit and loss statement, descriptions of your leadership/management team, sales projections and other related questions.

If you are an accredited investor and would like to participate as an Angel Investor with reserved VIP seating, please email Texas Business Buyers. We'd love for you to attend, and don't worry, you will be able to quietly observe and ask questions, but you will not be introduced to the audience or asked to put on a show like the "Sharks" do on TV. No decisions on investing will be made at the event and you'll be given the contact info of each team to follow up with opportunities you're interested in afterwards.

The Backstory

Hill Country Pitch Day was started by Clint Fiore, President of Texas Business Buyers, and is facilitated by his teammates and colleagues there. The first event was November 2017 and they hope to make it a long-term, annual event that will bless the Texas Hill Country.

Clint previously successfully raised 7-figure angel investments for two different companies he was a partner in, and has helped several other startups raise money and now angel invests himself periodically.

Although his business, Texas Business buyers, focuses on selling established businesses, because of his background in startups and working with angels, he would regularly get approached by aspiring entrepreneurs looking for assistance raising investment to get their ideas off the ground.

Rather than send these entrepreneurs to startup hotbeds like Austin, he figured "Why not have an event here?". The communities of Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Boerne, and others around the Hill Country do not have established Pitch Day events for local entrepreneurs to participate in, even though there is a lot of wealth here and experienced business people interested in investing in projects. They just need to be able to find each other.

This event is simply a forum, or an outlet, to fill a room full of dreams, cash, and a supportive community including universities, government, and media, to encourage area entrepreneurs to start their businesses here, with investors from here. No guarantees are made for investors or entrepreneurs, but this event is operated in faith that "If you put all the right people and ingredients in a room, sometimes magic happens!"
